Four Injured in Truck Accident

Four Injured in Truck Accident

On Saturday, January 8, four people were transported to a hospital after a collision involving two semi tractor-trailers. The two trucks were on I-80 heading east near Elm Creek when the collision occurred.

According to officials, one of the drivers lost control of the truck because of the slick road conditions. The out-of-control truck slammed into the other, causing both to slide and hit the underpass. They both wrapped around the pillars.

The accident blocked off I-80 for 12 hours.

According to the reports, four individuals were involved in the accident. One of the drivers was life-flighted with cuts and a leg injury. His passenger suffered cuts as well. The driver of the other truck did not sustain injury, but his passenger suffered a brain bleed as a result of the accident.

This accident is just another sign of the dangers of the road and how truck accidents can cause significant damage. When road conditions are deemed unsafe, it can make driving difficult for these semi-trucks and caution must be taken.

It is unsure what caused the vehicle to slide on the slick road, whether it was simply low traction or a driver error, but these are common causes. It can result in devastating injuries for all involved.
