Chase County Rollover Accident Proves Fatal

Tragic news from Chase County. A young man, just 24 years old, was killed in a rollover accident. The driver for unknown reasons lost control of his vehicle and spun off the road. No other vehicles were involved in this accident.

The driver, a Ukrainian native, had moved to Nebraska just months before on a temporary worker visa and was employed at a Western Nebraska irrigation company. The Sheriff assigned to the case told reporters that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which likely contributed to the severity of his injuries.

This accident is currently under investigation. All that is known at this point is the name of the victim, an approximate time of crash, and that he was driving a '97 Chrysler Concorde.

In some cases, rollover accidents like this are caused by negligent manufacturing and can warrant product liability lawsuits. In 1998, Chrysler issued a recall of a part on their '97 Concordes. The fuel injection system was faulty. In 2004, the company issued another recall that the power train automatic transmission lever and floor shift were defective. At this time, there is no indication that a recalled component that caused this crash.
