The taxpayers’ longtime agent advised he had never seen anything like the LOI policy before. He explained it was different because of the ROP Rider provision. Major over-the-counter medications are the center of a massive recall. The over the counter drugs were mixed together when packaged by a Nebraska company, Novartis, in Lincoln.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration issued a public warning that Novartis Consumer Health, Inc., a major pharmaceutical manufacturer, is recalling all lots of over-the-counter drugs Excedrin, Bufferin, Gas-X Prevention & NoDoze. The FDA reports that other drugs were mixed in with these over-the-counter Novartis drugs, and they may contain broken or chipped tablets.

The FDA warns, “mixing of different products in the same bottle could result in consumers taking the incorrect product and receiving a higher or lower strength than intended or receiving an unintended ingredient.  This could potentially result in overdose, interaction with other medications a consumer may be taking, or an allergic reaction if the consumer is allergic to the unintended ingredient.”  Novartis confirms the danger of injury.
